French week to open in Ho Chi Minh City
French businesses and the Embassy of France will celebrate French week in Vietnam from April 6 to 12.
The week will be France’s most important political, economic and cultural event in Vietnam, Ambassador Herve Bolot said at a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday.
The week will provide an opportunity for French businesses to discover Vietnam, a new economic “tiger” in Asia, he said.
Highlights of the week include a three-day exhibition of French products and forums on energy, health, agricultural products and foodstuff, education, Francophone community and globalization.
Cultural and sports activities to be held during the week include a photo exhibition, dance performances, a fashion show, a gala
night for orphans and a ceremony at the Tre Eco-museum in southern Binh Duong Province.
A France-Vietnam friendship marathon race, scheduled for April 6, is expected to attract around 5,000 people.
Ex-footballers from Viet Nam and France will play a friendly match at the Thong Nhat Stadium on April 8.
