Vietnam Airlines increases flights, fare classes
Vietnam Airlines has introduced more and cheaper fare classes and increased the number of services on certain sectors.
On Thursday it added two more classes of fares to the existing popular flexible fare (L) – namely popular fare (M) and economy fare (R).
The economy fare for the 26,000 seats on flights from Ho Chi Minh City to the central highlands resort town of Da Lat, Phu Quoc island off the southern tip, and Nha Trang costs just 25 percent of the existing popular flexible rates.
However, bookings must be made at least five days in advance.
The economy airfares will not apply during the national holidays on April 30 and May 1.
From April 1 the carrier will also offer two different fares for business class tickets on domestic routes, flexible business (CVN) and conditional business (DVN).
While both will enjoy the same services, DVN will be 18 percent cheaper than CVN but will have to be booked in advance.
More flights
Vietnam Airlines has also announced more domestic flights from March 25 to satisfy the increasing demand.
It will add three services a week on the HCMC – Hai Phong sector taking the total number to 10; two more between Hanoi and Nha Trang; three more between HCMC and Buon Ma Thuot; and two more between HCMC and Da Lat.
The increases have become possible because the carrier recently augmented its fleet receiving this month four A321s and two A330s – the former bought and the latter leased – taking the total number of aircraft it has to 44.
It expects to receive two more A321s in November.
