Boeing allowed to test online service on Vietnam flights

HANOI - Vietnam has allowed US giant Boeing to test online services aboard some flights to the country, an official said. Six airlines, including Koreas Asiana Airlines, Korea Air, China Airlines, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines and United Arab Emirates Etihad Airway will all have "Connexion by Boeing" on a trial run until May 30 next year, a telecom official from the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications told AFP.

"Under a decision which came into effect Tuesday last week, travellers on these airlines' flights to Vietnam can access to the Internet and some other online services with a laptop," he said, declining to be named. State-run newspaper Tien Phong daily Wednesday quoted To Dung, a science official at national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, as saying the state company is also considering offering Internet access to its passengers.
