Vietnam PM wants air security tightened
HANOI - Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has asked airline authorities to tighten security after the foiled plot to blow up aircraft leaving Britain for the United States, state media said.
'On Friday, the Prime Minister asked the Vietnam Civil Aviation Administration, Vietnam Airlines and Pacific Airlines to ... clearly define responsibilities in aviation safety,' the Saigon Giai Phong daily said yesterday.
The premier 'asked those agencies to always consider aviation security and safety their top tasks' and have uniform measures to ensure the safety of passengers.
An official at Vietnam Airlines told Agence France-Presse on Friday that it will take time for the country to reinforce security measures at airports due to administrative red tape.
