Vietnam’s first rock-show to be held

Nhung Hon Da Lan (The Rolling Stones), the first Vietnamese rock show will be held in November 11 at Hanoi’s Giang Vo Exhibition Centre, by the two Hanoi’s rock band, The Wall and The Light.

After three years from The Wall’s first live show in November 2002, Hanoi’s rock has been recognised as an indispensable part of the capital’s music life. Audiences welcome the art as joyfully as pop. Since then more rock festivals have taken place. Many rock band as Da Vang (Yellow Skin), Automega, Thuy Trieu Do (Red Tire), Gat Tan Day (Full Ash-Tray) and The Light have returned to rock, after having abandoned it for a time. Together, young bands have begun to make a mark with audiences, such as Coming Late, Small Fire, Soi Den (Black Wolf), Limited, and Microware. Recently, three clips of The Wall sold very well, encouraging music producers and other rockers to be more appreciative about the music.

The co-operation of The Wall and The Light is considered a wise choice. Previously, The Wall was censured by some members of it's more extreme audience for tempering it's sound to fit more commercial tastes an unpopular view, since “following audiences’ taste is not characteristic of rock”. The Rolling Stones in co-operation with The Light will probably satisfy the extreme audiences. After the show on November 11, the show will be continue working with young rock bands as Small Fire or Microware.
