Air France appoints new regional manager in Vietnam

HANOI - Air France has appointed Louis Vergeon as its new regional manager in Vietnam from July 1, replacing Maurice Berja, who has worked in this capacity for the past three years. Louis Vergeon of French nationality is 53, and used to serve as sales manager for Vietnam and Cambodia from 1994 to 1999 before assuming the post of Air France's regional manager in the Philippines. Berja will come back to France and work at Air France office in Paris.

On June 30, Air France introduced its Flying Blue program, the new frequent flyer program of Air France and KLM, since the former took over the latter last year. Air France Vietnam sales manager Pham Hy Thinh said at a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City that all frequent flyers of the two airlines can join the Flying Blue program. The program have four levels, with the Platinum Card give to frequent flyers with 70,000 miles a year, the Gold Card for those flying 40,000 miles a year, the Silver Card for 25,000 miles a year and the Ivory Card for guests that fly with the carriers for the first time. Thinh said frequent flyers can win free flights on all the services of Air France and KLM and also on flights operated by Sky Team member airlines and some other 30 airlines partners. The program will bring more other benefits for flyers as well, he said. For example, flyers with an Ivory card can get a free return ticket from Ho Chi Minh City of Hanoi to Bangkok if they buy a return ticket from Ho Chi Minh City of Hanoi to Europe.
