Vietnam filmmakers invited to french film festival
Vietnamese filmmakers are set to take part in an international film festival for French language films in Belgium next week, seeking exchange with global production and distribution partners.
The 20th Namur International French-language Film Festival, which runs from the 23rd to the 30th September will screen the Vietnamese made French film Thoi Xa Vang (A Distant Past) directed by Ho Quang Minh.
Director Nguyen Vinh Son from the Giai Phong (liberation) film studio is to introduce the film La Lune dans le Fond du Puits (Moon’s Reflection in the Water Well) to a two-day forum at the festival (The 2nd Forum for French Language production).
The forum allows producers to test and consolidate their projects in the company of several professionals, and to look for financial sources or partners. Each year the festival invites 10 specially selected projects to take part in the forum.
Veteran director Dang Nhat Minh is also to attend the forum at the festival.
