HANOI - Vietnam has licensed a South Korean company to build the biggest-ever hospital with investment of nearly 200 million US dollars in the country, according to a local investment agency on Thursday. The Jukjin Holding Company is licensed to construct a modern hospital with 57 departments and 1,000 beds in Tu Liem outlying district of Hanoi capital, said the Foreign Investment Department under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

According to the project`s developer, they will also build a 7- storey building in the hospital`s campus to offer shopping, recreational and gastronomy services to foreign and Vietnamese patients. The hospital with expected workforce of 6,000 is schedule to become operational in late 2007. Jukjin is planning to build such a hospital in northern Hai Phong city, central Da Nang city and southern Ho Chi Minh City each. Vietnam attracted foreign direct investment of nearly 5.3 billion dollars in the first 11 months of this year, surging 40.3 percent over the same period last year, the department said.
