Young vietnamese entrepreneurs to go online
HANOI - Vietnam: Vietnam's National Council of Young
Entrepreneurs will launch the country's first all-business
website in early March, an official said on Friday.
The site, www.yesvietnamexpo.com.vn, has been testing
on the Internet since Jan. 1 and will be officially launched
in early March to help enterprises introduce their
products and share market information, council Vice
President Pham Tan Cong said.
The site will initially serve the council's members but later
will be expanded to serve others as well, he said.
Cong said the site aims to help Vietnamese enterprises
improve their business efficiency and competitiveness as
well as globalise Vietnam's trade.
Vietnam currently has no e-commerce and the
government is now drafting regulations for this new form
of trade.
"E-commerce is essential for the country, where
import-export volume reached $ 30 billion and internal
trade $ 70 billion to $ 80 billion last year," Cong said.
The council, established in 1998, has 1,500 members
who are young directors of 1,500 companies with annual
turnover totaling $ 5 billion and employing 500,000
people.
