Y2K status report for Vietnam at 0400 GMT
HANOI - Vietnam's official Y2K Steering
Committee said on Saturday the country had experienced no
major problems related to the millennium bug.
Chu Hao, deputy head of the committee, told a news conference
in Hanoi that the agency had received information from all key
sectors, including the banking industry, which showed there
were no serious hiccups.
Below is a breakdown of key sectors:
ELECTRICITY: Hao said there were no problems related to
Y2K, although there had been minor, routine power outages in
several locations across the country.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS: Hao said there was no impact
from Y2K.
WATER: Hao gave no details.
AVIATION: Hao said there had been no Y2K impact.
