Vietnam Govt gives green light to expressway project
HANOI - The Vietnamese government has given the green light to a 54 kilometre
highway running from Ho Chi Minh City into Dong Nai Province.
The new expressway will link Ho Chi Minh City with National Highway 20 through Long Thanh District in
Dong Nai.
The US$225 million Phase 1 will see six lanes built on the District 2 to Long Thanh section and four lanes
from Long Thanh to Dau Giay.
It will begin at the junction of Luong Dinh Cua Street and Inter provincial Road No 25 in Ho Chi Minh
City's District 2 to Cat Lai, crossing the Dong Nai River at Cat Lai and through Long Thanh town to Dau
Giay Junction (at the intersection of National Highways 1A and 20) in Dong Nai Province's Thong Nhat
District.
A joint venture headed by the Urban and Industrial Zone Development Investment Corporation [Idico],
under the Ministry of Construction, will carry out the project.
The other members of the joint venture are: Thang Long Construction Corporation, Ho Chi Minh City
Volunteer Youth's Import-Export Services and Trading Company, Huy Hoang Garment and Construction
Services Company and Central Construction Corporation.
Construction will begin in the middle of this year and finish in four years' time.
