Vietnam wants to further develop comprehensive cooperation with France

HANOI - Viet Nam always wants to further develop comprehensive cooperation with France and hopes that France will continue to support Viet Nam's national renovation and construction. So said Party General Secretary Le Kha Phieu in Ha Noi on Oct. 24 while receiving a visiting French delegation, led by Jean Michel Severino, Finance Inspector General, World Bank Deputy President in charge of Asia and Co-Chairman of the "Viet Nam-France Dialogue and Exchange Forum on Economics and Finance".

The Party General Secretary welcomed the coordination of the two countries' scholars in studying practical themes that play an advisory role in forming Viet Nam's policy and expressed his wish that the forum would carry out practical activities that contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of the two countries' cooperation. Mr J. M. Severino informed the Vietnamese host of the successful results of the forum's first working session in Ha Noi. He thanked the Vietnamese Party leader for his attention to strengthen and expand the Viet Nam-France relationship as well as the forum's activities.

Deputy prime minister receives french guests

HANOI - Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Manh Cam received in Ha Noi on Oct. 24 a French delegation led by Jean Michel Severino, Finance Inspector General and World Bank Deputy President in Charge of Asia. The French delegation is here to attend the "Viet Nam-France Dialogue and Exchange Forum on Economics and Finance". Deputy PM Cam highly valued the forum, saying that it would contribute to strengthening mutual understanding and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and France. He said that the Vietnamese Government would pay attention to help the forum succeed.

Mr. Severino who is also co-Chairman of the forum expressed his joys at frank and open discussions between French and Vietnamese delegations. He said he believed that through this forum, the exchange of visits by delegations between the two countries would be expanded.
