Vietnam peace concert rescheduled
Organisers of a United Nations-backed peace concert due to have been held in Vietnam in June but cancelled for technical reasons, say they now hope it will take place in September in Ho Chi Minh City.
The World Peace Music Awards are intended to honour artists who have campaigned against war and contributed to global peace.
The concert producer, Matt Taylor, says organisers are re-applying for the permits necessary to hold the show in Ho Chi Minh City on 25 September.
He says the government has been very supportive and helpful during their 10-month partnership.
Performers, including Lionel Richie, Gloria Gaynor and Jon Secada, are scheduled to perform at the concert.
ABC Radio Australia - July 12, 2004.
