Another oil field found off Vietnam's Vung Tau city
HANOI - Oil and natural gas was found during preliminary exploration
drilling at lot 09-2 in Ca Ngu Vang (Golden Tuna) oil field of Cuu
Long lower basin, southeast of Vung Tau city.
The Hoan Vu Petroleum Joint Venture Company announced the results on
Sept. 26, saying that the new oil field has an oil flow rate of
around 2,500 barrels per day and a natural gas flow rate of around
6.6 million cubic feet per day. The company said more tests are
being conducted to define the total oil and gas reserves in the
drilled well.
The Hoan Vu Joint Venture Company is composed of SOCO Vietnam Ltd.
of Britain, PTTET Hoanvu Co. Ltd. of Thailand and the Oil and Gas
Exploration and Exploitation Company, a subsidiary of the Vietnam
Oil and Gas Corporation.
