Vietnamese leader to visit Namibia
Vietnamese president Tran Duc Luong, accompanied by a delegation of 85, will arrive in Namibia on Tuesday for a two-day state visit.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced this week that Luong's
delegation will include his Minister of Agriculture Le Huy Ngo, Minister of Trade
Truong Dinh Tuyen, and Health Minister Tran Thi Trung Chien.
A business delegation will be led by the Vice President of the Chamber of
Commerce and Industry, Vu Tien Loc.
President Sam Nujoma visited Vietnam in July and signed an agreement on
economic, commercial, cultural, and scientific and technological co-operation
with Luong.
The two countries also agreed to set up diplomatic ties at ambassadorial level
and ministers were urged to exchange visits to explore opportunities to promote
bilateral co-operation in trade, education and training. Luong also offered to
send Vietnamese rice experts to Namibia. While in Namibia, the Vietnamese
delegation visit Heroes' Acre on the outskirts of Windhoek where Luong will lay a
wreath.
