P Dussman Vietnam to Provide Meals to Cho Ray Hospital
HANOI - With an average growth rate of 200 percent per annum during the past five years, the service that
the Dussmann Group of Germany selected to invest in Vietnam - supplying meals for the community - was unique and highly
effective.
The group's company in Vietnam - P. Dussmann Vietnam Co. Ltd. - started operation with an investment capital of only
US$150,000. Five years later, its capital has soared 13 times to US$2 million. Though it is still modest as compared with other
foreign-invested projects in the country, the investment has yielded remarkable results. The company has so far signed 12
contracts to supply 27,500 meals per day to 15 canteens.
The company's service meets the demands of different customers. It serves daily meals for workers with low and medium
incomes, or feasts with Asian, European and American specialities, and especially prescribed meals for poor patients.
P. Dussmann Vietnam Co. Ltd. is now cooperating with the Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City in operating a modern
canteen with an investment capital of US$1 million to provide 10,000 meals per day for the hospital alone.
According to Cho Ray Hospital Deputy Director Pham Thi Nguyet Anh, the company has ensured food hygiene in the supply
of meals. Besides, the company has re-trained and employed all workers from the hospital's canteen.
The company's staff have prepared different kinds of meals in accordance with doctor prescriptions for patients with heart
diseases, hepatitis and diabetes.
A Dussmann Group representative in Vietnam said the group will pour more investment in service projects in Vietnam in the
near future, including a project to build two modern laundries for hospitals in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.
