Vietnam produces CD-ROM version of collected works of Ho Chi Minh
HANOI - Vietnam has produced a CD-ROM version of the collected works of communist ideologue Ho Chi Minh to mark the party's
five-yearly congress later this month, the official media said Wednesday.
The collection includes more than 8,000 pages of his works, as well as 1,000 pictures, 220 minutes of sound recordings, a
30-minute documentary and hundreds of songs, taking up a total memory of 600 MB.
"It is aimed at welcoming the ninth national party congress, reminding us to memorize and implement Uncle Ho's teachings,"
said party ideology and culture chief Huu Tho.
Despite the efforts of the communist authorities to develop a software industry here, Vietnam still has only around 500,000
personal computers for its population of 78 million.
