Belgian prince in Vietnam with economic mission
Belgium's Crown Prince Philippe has arrived in Vietnam to preside over an economic mission aimed at boosting investment
opportunities for Belgian companies.
The delegation, led by Belgium's minister for economy, energy, foreign trade and science policy, Fientje Moerman, flew into Hanoi's
Noi Bai international airport on Sunday. Representatives of about 100 companies and organisations are accompanying the prince on
the seven-day visit.
The minister and Prince Philippe, 43, are due to meet Vietnam's prime minister, Phan Van Khai, and other government leaders The
130-strong delegation will spend three days in the capital, and will then travel to the north-eastern port city of Haiphong and the
southern business capital of Ho Chi Minh City before leaving.
Belgian exports to Vietnam last year were worth $US122 million.
